Why This Page Exists

Ground classes are not a box to tick before flying training — they are the foundation your entire CPL timeline is built on. Weak ground school means repeat DGCA exam attempts, and every repeat attempt costs months. This page covers exactly what our DGCA ground classes in Bangalore include, who teaches them, and how they fit into the full CPL pathway.

Six Subjects. Taught Exam-First.

DGCA requires six theory papers before you're eligible to sit your CPL flight test. Each is taught as a standalone subject at our Kalyan Nagar centre, with a minimum 70% required to pass:

SubjectWhat It Covers
Air NavigationChart reading, dead reckoning, radio navigation aids, flight planning, time and fuel calculations
Aviation MeteorologyWeather systems, cloud hazards, METAR/TAF decoding, wind, turbulence, icing
Air RegulationsAircraft Act 1934, Aircraft Rules 1937, DGCA CARs, ICAO annexes, airspace classification
Technical GeneralAerodynamics, aircraft systems, engine theory, instruments, propeller theory
Technical SpecificSystems, POH, performance charts and emergency procedures for your training aircraft type
RTR (Aeronautical)Radio communication, ICAO phraseology, ATC procedures, emergency calls — written exam plus oral viva

Not Coaching Classes.
A Mentorship Model.

Most DGCA ground classes in Bangalore are taught by instructors who have never operated a commercial aircraft. Ours are led by Gp Capt Saideep Lall (Retd.), an IAF experimental test pilot with 4,000+ hours across 13 aircraft types, and Capt Vidhi Sharma, an active Airbus A320 captain with 10,000+ hours. Every subject is taught with the operational context of a pilot who has actually used it — not just the syllabus.

Facility

3,000 sq ft

Purpose-built centre in Kalyan Nagar — two classrooms, a flight-simulator room, and smart-board sessions with airline case studies.
Batch Size

Small, By Design

The next batch (September 2026) is capped at 10 seats — every doubt gets solved in the room, not deferred to a forum.
Parallel Execution

Not Sequential

While you complete ground school, we run your Class 1 & 2 medicals, eGCA registration and USA visa processing alongside — not after.
Proprietary Training Technology

Ground school here comes with a digital stack we built ourselves: a proprietary CPL question bank of 8,798 DGCA-style questions with worked solutions across 202 chapters and all 5 subjects, an advanced RTR(A) push-to-talk practice simulator — 281 voice drills and 60 timed Part B mock exams, one of very few built by any academy in India — and a structured Moodle LMS carrying chapter-wise textbooks, revision notes, video lessons and weekly progress tests. See the full stack on our training technology overview.

Eligibility & Fees

Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics is the standard entry point. Commerce and Arts students can qualify through NIOS — see our complete NIOS guide if that applies to you. DGCA ground school fees typically run ₹80,000–₹2,00,000 depending on format and inclusions; our full cost guide breaks down every rupee of the CPL pathway beyond ground school as well.

Where Ground Classes Fit

Ground classes are Stage 1 of our Integrated Pilot Mentorship Program — roughly 4 months in Bengaluru, followed by flying training abroad and DGCA licence conversion on return. If you're evaluating ground classes in isolation, see our guide on choosing the right CPL ground classes in India for the seven criteria that actually matter. Cadets on the flagship pathway can also pursue a UGC-recognised B.Sc in Hospitality & Aviation Management from Lingaya's Vidyapeeth in parallel with CPL training — a full university degree alongside the licence.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do DGCA ground classes in Bangalore take? +
Around 4 months for all six subjects at Aerogenesis, taught exam-first alongside your medicals and eGCA registration running in parallel. Standalone coaching-only formats elsewhere can take longer if subjects are taught sequentially.
Do I need Physics and Maths in Class 12 to start? +
Yes for the standard route. Commerce and Arts students can qualify via NIOS — see our NIOS guide for the exact process and timeline, which typically takes 3–6 months and can run alongside a regular college degree.
What is the pass requirement for DGCA theory exams? +
A minimum of 70% in each of the six subjects. Weak preparation leading to repeat attempts is one of the most common — and most avoidable — sources of delay in the entire CPL timeline.
Can I do ground classes in Bangalore and fly abroad afterward? +
Yes — this is exactly how our Integrated Pilot Mentorship Program is structured: DGCA ground school in Bengaluru, flying training at our partner FTO in Florida, USA, and DGCA licence conversion support on your return. See the full pathway.
Where exactly are the classes held? +
4AM – 503, Vistara, Ground Floor, Kalyan Nagar, Bengaluru – 560043 — a 3,000 sq ft dedicated training centre. Call +91 80501 67474 or WhatsApp to visit before the September batch.
