Aerogenesis Aviation Academy
DGCA Technical General Classes in Bangalore & Online
Technical General covers how an aeroplane flies and how its engine and systems work. It is a separate enrolment at ₹60,000, outside the ₹1.8 lakh package.
Fee and format
Technical General costs ₹60,000 and is a separate enrolment. It is not part of the ₹1.8 lakh package, which covers Air Regulations, Air Navigation, Air Meteorology and RTR Parts 1 and 2. Aerogenesis does not teach Technical Specific.
Classes run in the daytime, online or in the classroom at our HBR Layout centre in Bengaluru. Ask admissions for the current timetable. Tax treatment, external examination charges and the duration of learning-material access must be confirmed in your written enrolment quotation.
What Technical General covers
| Topic | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Principles of flight | Lift, drag, thrust and weight; stalls; stability and control; flaps and other high-lift devices. |
| Airframe and structures | Structural materials, loads and fatigue, and the flight controls. |
| Piston engines | How a piston engine produces power, fuel and ignition systems, lubrication and cooling, and mixture control. |
| Propellers | Propeller theory, fixed-pitch and constant-speed propellers, and their handling. |
| Aircraft systems | Fuel, hydraulic, landing gear and brakes, electrical, and pressurisation and air-conditioning systems. |
How Technical General is taught
Technical General is understood by connecting the principle to what the pilot sees and does. Students practise on the Aerogenesis CPL question bank (8,798 DGCA-style questions with worked solutions across 202 chapters, shared across subjects), and the learning system adds chapter-wise notes, video lessons and weekly progress tests.
Classes are led by pilot mentors, including Gp Capt Saideep Lall (Retd), an IAF experimental test pilot with 4,000+ hours on 13 aircraft types, and Capt Vidhi Sharma, an active Airbus A320 captain.
Technical Specific is the aircraft-type paper. Aerogenesis does not teach it; plan that preparation with your flying school or another provider.
A worked example
Question. Lift = ½ × air density × airspeed² × wing area × lift coefficient. If airspeed doubles and everything else stays the same, what happens to lift?
Working. Lift depends on airspeed squared, so doubling airspeed multiplies lift by 2² = 4.
An original practice example, not an official DGCA question and not a prediction of an examination paper.
Who this is for
- Candidates who want Technical General alongside the four-component package.
- Candidates completing their papers in stages.
- Students who want this subject taught by pilot mentors rather than self-study.
